The days are growing longer, warmer, and wetter. It’s spring in South Africa, time to scatter seeds. In this issue of “What’s Up with Omni?” we will share a more detailed vision of the The Omni Foundation communities, and the roles we see being filled. The purpose of this sharing is to scatter seeds on the soil of your psyche; to plant thoughts in your minds of the possibilities of your involvement in an Omni Foundation community (in case we hadn’t already done so).
Please understand that what we are looking at, here, is a big picture, a fruit bearing tree—no, make that a garden—and we have years to grow before we get to that point. In fact, right now, the Omni vision is but a sprout in the nursery, and has yet to be rooted into any land.
Though we don’t yet know when the property will come for us to begin physically building the first community, we know it will come, and when it does, we want to be ready for transplant. Not only our family tree, but other families and individuals, called to this garden.
So, if the lifestyle we are working toward resonates with you, if your spirit believes it is not an impossible dream, then please allow your imagination to run wild. Picture yourself in this garden. What plant would you be? What space would you occupy? What beauty would you offer? What purpose would you serve?
Now, we shift metaphors from our growth as a garden to the construction of a building. Below is a blue print of how we envision The Omni Foundation communities being built.
Our FOUNDATION is a common spiritual understanding: I Am because we are: WE ARE ONE – It is from this foundation that the entire enterprise stands. We cannot become a solid unit if we see ourselves as separate from the whole. Such is the plight of humanity. Few understand their part in the whole, and so they don’t operate according to their purpose. Our purpose is to be a model of how to operate as one, and to help and inspire others to do the same.
From the foundation of Oneness, there will rise the PILLARS of the community:
Awareness, Transparency, Responsibility and Cooperation. These pillars will uphold a framework encircling health of mind, body, spirit and environment.
The following eight roles and industries will be HOUSED within the framework of the community:
Holistic Healing Center
Spiritual Growth Center
Administration: Book keeping, payroll and public relations
Education: School for residents' children, modeled after the Waldorf educational system and our own philosophy (will eventually work toward accreditation)
Farming: Care of livestock, vegetable garden, green house, orchards and bees
Holistic Health Center: Offering various holistic remedies, therapies and exercises for mind, body and spirit
Hospitality: Guest and member accommodations, housekeeping, kitchen, cafe and gift shop
Maintenance: Overall property maintenance including building, electrical, plumbing, and grounds keeping
Production House: Publishing, recording, other media, arts and crafts
Spiritual Growth Center: Education for personal change and spiritual development for those seeking clarity, healing and guidance
Would you like to join our family? There are many ways you can participate in this vision, whether living in community, volunteering, donating or investing, Think about it, pray about it, meditate on it. Listen to the leading of your heart.
Infinite Blessings to All!
